What sets Jo’s corporate Yoga apart is that it is sequenced and instructed by an experienced human resources executive who understands how employees think – as well as what is legally and logistically required to establish a successful onsite yoga program. As a specialist in HR compliance for more than 15 years, and a seasoned sensitivity and harassment workshop instructor, Jo is highly attuned to avoiding discriminatory pitfalls, as well as any other potentially litigious situations that could arise with bringing Yoga into the workplace. She also has a unique ability to motivate and inspire, making everyone feel equally engaged and important no matter what their yoga skill level may be.
One of the many benefits of yoga is its ability to help us de-stress and unwind. Employees that are relaxed, confident and productive are vital to a thriving workplace. By helping them focus on their breath, and encouraging them to be mindful of what they’re doing in the moment, Yoga can gently guide your staff toward achieving work/life balance. Simply by breathing thoughtfully and following carefully designed sequencing for an hour, their minds will enjoy a much-needed, much-welcomed respite from the daily corporate pressures and deadlines. Having yoga in the workplace offers an easy, convenient way for employees to have a balanced life and fit in a “workout” without having to leave the premises.
With a one-hour weekly investment, corporations can achieve:
Happier, more energized and more productive employees
Decline in stress-related sick occurrences
Heightened concentration, alertness, decision-making skills and ability to multitask more efficiently
Relief of head, neck and back strain; carpal tunnel syndrome; insomnia; high blood pressure and work-related injuries from repetitive motion
Better customer service, calmer approach to difficult situations – and more smiles!
Enhanced positive attitude and outlook
Improved well-being in the workplace and less employee turnover
Better eating choices, less vaping and smoking!
Recent research indicates that companies that offer yoga and wellness programs to their employees reduce their annual health insurance premiums, thereby boosting their bottom line. When we’re balanced, we’re better able to face challenges and give our best to whatever endeavor we undertake. It’s as simple as that.
The discipline of Yoga trains students to assume difficult positions in life with more ease and grace, staying upright, sitting, lying down, twisting or upside down in practice and beyond. The purpose of Yoga is to gradually teach the practitioner to keep body and mind poised in all situations, preserving perfect calm in whatever environment surrounds them.
Linking postures with breath creates a deep personal introspection, oxygenating the blood, nourishing organs and glands, calming our nervous system, releasing toxins. Yoga revitalizes our whole being, allowing us to access areas that have become restricted or blocked through built up energy.
Jo’s consciously balanced sequencing is designed to open your body and mind, gradually, by focusing on proper breathing techniques and alignment. She understands how to connect with people and help center them in a safe, non-threatening manner – from beginners through more seasoned Yoga practitioners, with the unique ability to motivate and inspire, making everyone feel equally engaged and important no matter what their yoga skill level may be.
